Your spec is vague. Your backlog won't be.
Usembic reads your spec, spots what was never decided and asks you about it. The backlog is built from your answers, not from an AI's assumptions.
Every unresolved ambiguity gets paid for in development.

How long before a session expires?
ChatGPT already writes stories. That is not the hard part.
Any assistant will produce ten stories from an incomplete spec. The trouble is that it fills the gaps: it settles what nobody decided, and it goes unnoticed because it reads well. Usembic stops where the text stops. It spots what was not decided, asks you, and only generates the backlog from your answers.

Ask for a change in plain language: split a story, reword a criterion. Usembic shows you the precise diff, story by story, and applies nothing until you approve. Code review, but for your backlog.

Frequently asked questions
What is Usembic?
Usembic reads your spec and spots what it does not decide. It asks you the questions, you settle them, and the backlog is generated from your answers: user stories with Gherkin acceptance criteria, exportable to Jira or Asana.
Why not just use ChatGPT?
ChatGPT will give you ten stories in thirty seconds, and that is not the hard part. A generator fills the gaps with assumptions nobody has validated. Usembic spots what was never decided in your spec and asks you the questions it is missing, with suggested answers. The backlog is only generated once the ambiguities are cleared up, by you.
Do I stay in control of what the AI produces?
Yes. Every change is shown as a proposal (a precise diff, story by story) that you approve or reject. Nothing is applied until you decide. It's a code review, but for your backlog.
Are my documents kept confidential?
Your account data is hosted in the European Union (OVH, France) and your documents on Backblaze B2 (Europe). AI processing uses the OpenAI API, which does not use this data to train its models. You keep ownership of your content, deleted when you close your account.
Which tools can I export to?
You can export your backlog as CSV for Jira and Asana, ready to import. Linear, Notion and Azure DevOps are coming soon.
How do I get access?
Sign-up is open to everyone: create your account from the homepage, confirm your email address, and you can start right away with 10 free credits.
