A dev-ready backlog, approved by you.
Usembic turns your spec into user stories with acceptance criteria. You review and approve every story before it reaches your devs.

How long before a session expires?
An AI that asks questions instead of making them up.
Most tools generate a backlog in one shot, filling the gaps with guesses. Usembic does the opposite: it spots the unclear parts of your spec and asks you the questions it's missing, with suggested answers. The backlog is only generated once the ambiguities are cleared up, by you.
See exactly what changes.
Ask for a change in plain language: split a story, reword a criterion. Usembic shows you the precise diff, story by story, and applies nothing until you approve. Code review, but for your backlog.
Your backlog, where your team works.
Export your backlog as Jira or Asana CSV, ready to import.
Frequently asked questions
What is Usembic?
Usembic turns your product spec into a dev-ready backlog: user stories with Gherkin acceptance criteria. You review and approve every story before it ships to development.
How is it different from a regular backlog generator?
Most tools generate everything in one shot, filling the gaps with guesses. Usembic spots the fuzzy areas in your spec and asks the questions it's missing, with suggested answers. The backlog is only generated once the ambiguities are resolved - by you.
Do I stay in control of what the AI produces?
Yes. Every change is shown as a proposal - a precise diff, story by story - that you approve or reject. Nothing is applied until you decide. It's a code review, but for your backlog.
Are my documents kept confidential?
Your account data is hosted in the European Union (OVH, France) and your documents on Backblaze B2 (Europe). AI processing uses the OpenAI API, which does not use this data to train its models. You keep ownership of your content, deleted when you close your account.
Which tools can I export to?
You can export your backlog as CSV for Jira and Asana, ready to import. Linear, Notion and Azure DevOps are coming soon.
